Kennesaw State University offers several opportunities for students interested in joining Peace Corps and for Returning Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCV). For undergraduate students wishing to join the Peace Corps Volunteer program, KSU offers the Peace Corps Prep Program. For RPCV's wishing to attend Graduate School, KSU has partnered with the Paul D. Coverdell Program to offer Graduate Research Assitantships and tuition waivers for Graduate Students interested in specific programs at KSU.
The Peace Corps Prep Program is offered by the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies. The program is compiled of courses that will complement your major and will build competencies through coursework, hands-on experience, and professional development support. The 4 competencies are:
As is indicated at the Peace Corps website, for many Peace Corps Coverdell Fellows, this is an opportunity to combine academic and professional endeavors with your desire to work in underserved communities. At the same time, it allows the Fellow to reintegrate into a community and do something meaningful after your experience abroad.
Through the Peace Corps Coverdell Fellows Program at KSU, you will receive a 9-credit tuition waiver and stipend for fall and spring semesters. The program offers Graduate Research Assistantships to Peace Corps Fellows for up to four academic semesters in this degree program. RPCV Fellows are responsible for any premium tuition, student fees, and mandatory health insurance.

There is a two-part application process:
Acceptance into a graduate program does not guarantee automatic acceptance into KSU's Fellows/USA program. If you would like to be considered for the KSU Coverdell Fellows Program for fall 2017, you need to submit an application by March 15, 2017.The Peace Corps Coverdell Fellows Committee will review all applications and contact candidates no later than May 31. Admission into a graduate program is a prerequisite for Fellows consideration.
